Sonja Maria Westermann
Sonja Maria Westermann studierte an den Musikhochschulen in Karlsruhe und Würzburg bei Prof. Ingrid Haubold und Prof. Leandra Overmann, sowie bei Beatrice Bianco in Bologna. Ihre Ausbildung ergänzte sie in Meisterklassen von Prof. Cheryl Studer, Laurence Dale, Alfonso Leoz, Maris Skuja und Gianluca Zampieri. Sie war Finalistin beim Internationalen Gesangswettbewerb der Festspielstadt Passau. Ihr Operndebüt feierte sie 2013 als Fiordiligi in Mozarts COSÌ FAN TUTTE, gefolgt von der Rosalinde in DIE FLEDERMAUS bei den Schlossfestspielen Zwingenberg. Es folgten zahlreiche Engagements mit weiteren großen Partien ihres Fachs wie Marguerite in Gounods FAUST, Contessa di Almaviva in Mozarts LE NOZZE DI FIGARO, Verdis LUISA MILLER (von Publikum und Fachpresse gleichermaßen gelobt und gefolgt von einem Interview im Opernmagazin ORPHEUS), Kurfürstin in Zellers DER VOGELHÄNDLER, erneut ROSALINDE, Leo Falls MADAME POMPADOUR, Carlotta in Millöckers GASPARONE und Evelyn Valera in der Raymond Operette MASKE IN BLAU an den Theatern in Hof, Plauen-Zwickau und der Staatsoperette Dresden. Sie gastierte bei den Tiroler Festspielen Erl als Helmwige in DIE WALKÜRE unter der Leitung von Gustav Kuhn und am Badischen Staatstheater Karlsruhe als Cover der Titelpartie in VERLOBUNG IM TRAUM von Hans Krása. Im Rahmen des Wagners Jubiläums in Leipzig sang sie die Dritte Norn und Woglinde in DIE GÖTTERDÄMMERUNG unter Leitung von David Timm, sowie Beethovens NEUNTE SINFONIE im Gewandhaus Leipzig und das Verdi Requiem in der Thomaskirche. 2017 ist Sonja Maria Westermann Stipendiatin des Richard-Wagner-Verbandes. Sie konzertierte als DESDEMONA in Verdis Otello in Rom und erarbeitete sich neben den Verdi-Partien weitere
Rollen des jugendlich-dramatischen Sopranfachs wie Sieglinde, Agathe, Puccinis Manon Lescaut oder Strauss’ Ariadne.

Byla finalistkou mezinárodní pěvecké soutěže festivalového města Passau. Svůj operní debut slavila v roce 2013 jako Fiordiligi v Mozartově COSÌ FAN TUTTE, následovala Rosalinda v Netopýrovi (Die Fledermaus) na zámeckém festivalu Zwingenberg a četná angažmá s dalšími velkými rolemi jako Marguerite v Gounodově Faustovi, Contessa di Almaviva v Mozartově LE NOZZE DI FIGARO, Verdiho LUISA MILLER (oceněna publikem a novináři, následovalo interview v magazínu pro operu ORPHEUS), kurfiřtka v Zellerově DER VOGELHÄNDLER, v obnovené ROSALINDĚ, Fallsově MADAME POMPADOUR, Carlotta v Millöckersově GASPARONE a Evelyn Valera v Raymondově operetě MASKE IN BLAU, v divadle v Hofu, Plauen-Zwickau a Státní opeře v Drážďanech. Hostovala na Tyrolských slavnostech v Erlu (Tiroler Festspielen Erl) jako Helmwige ve Valkýře (DIE WALKÜRE) pod vedením Gustava Kuhna a v Lázeňském státním divadle v Karlsruhe (Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe) jako alternace titulní role v opeře od Hanse Krásy Zásnuby ve snu (VERLOBUNG IM TRAUM). V rámci Wagnerova jubilea v Lipsku (Leipzig) zpívala třetí sudičku a také Woglindu v Soumraku bohů (DIE GÖTTERDÄMMERUNG) pod vedením Davida Timma, stejně tak jako v Beethovenově Symfonii č. 9 v koncertní síni Gewandhaus v Lipsku a Verdiho Requiemu v Thomaskirche. V roce 2017 je Sonja Maria Westermann stipendijní studentkou Nadace Richarda Wagnera. Koncertovala jako Desdemona ve Verdiho Otellovi v Římě a vedle těchto rolí nastudovala také další, v dramatickém sopránu, například Sieglinde, Agathe, Pucciniho Manon Lescaut nebo Straussovu Ariadne.

Her opera debut was in 2013 as Fiordiligi in Mozart’s COSÌ FAN TUTTE, next came the role of Rosalinda in The Bat (Die Fledermaus) at the castle festival Zwingenberg and another roles, e.g. Marguerite (Gounod’s Faust), Contessa di Almaviva (Mozart’s LE NOZZE DI FIGARO), Verdi’s LUISA MILLER (popular with the audience and the press, followed by the opera magazine ORPHEUS interview), the elector (Zeller’s DER VOGELHÄNDLER), in Falls’ MADAME POMPADOUR, Carlotta (Millöckers’ GASPARONE), Evelyn Valera (Reymond’s operetta MASKE IN BLAU), in theatres in Hof, Platen-Zwickau and the Dresden State Opera. Sonja gave a guest performance at the Tyrol Festival in Erl as Helmwige in The Valkyrie (DIE WALKÜRE) under the conduction of Gustav Kuhn. She alternated the leading role in Hans Krása’s opera VERLOBUNG IM TRAUM in the Badisches Staatstheatre Karlsruhe. Within Wagner’s jubilee in Leipzig she was the third Fate and also Woglinda in The Dusk of the Gods (DIE GÖTTERDÄMMERUNG) under the conduction of David Timm. She sang Beethoven’s Symphony number 9 in the Gewandhaus concert hall in Leipzig and Verdi’s Requiem in Thomaskirche. In 2017 she received scholarship from the Richard Wagner Foundation. She performed as Desdemona in Verdi’s Othello in Rome and apart from that, she got roles in dramatic soprano, e.g. Sieglinde, Agathe, Puccini’s Manon Lescaut or Strauss’ Ariadne.
